How to make a Finnish passport photo online
- Open the Passport Photo Resizer. It loads with the Finland size (36 × 47 mm) already selected.
- Upload your photo. Everything runs on your device; nothing is uploaded.
- Drag the crop frame so your head and eye line fit the guide (head about 32–36 mm tall).
- Set a plain light-coloured background if the original isn’t clean.
- Download the 36 × 47 mm image, ready to print or upload.
Finnish passport photos commonly use 36 × 47 mm on a plain light-coloured background — a few millimetres larger than the usual 35 × 45 mm Schengen print. Using a standard Schengen booth crop without checking can leave the head or margins slightly off for Finnish photo checks.
Start from the Schengen preset for a close ICAO-style frame, then adjust to 36 × 47 mm in the resizer’s custom size fields if your form lists those millimetres. Confirm the current poliisi.fi photo instructions before you submit.
Dimensions here are a convenient reference for the most common Finnishpassport photo size. Rules can change and some applications differ, so always confirm the latest requirements with the Finnish Police (poliisi.fi) before you submit.
