Open the chat. In the WhatsApp Android app, open the conversation you want to archive.
Export chat Without media. Tap More options (⋮) More Export chat Without media. Share or save the .txt (Downloads, Drive, email, etc.).
Confirm you have the .txt. If Android gave you a zip (with-media export), open it and use the .txt inside before converting.
