How to create a WhatsApp PDF for your records

Export from WhatsApp. On the phone that holds the chat, use Export chat Without media (or with media if attachments must be kept in a separate zip).
Preserve the original .txt. Keep a copy of the raw export. A PDF is for reading and printing; the .txt is closer to the source transcript.
Convert locally. Drop the .txt into Tokitool’s WhatsApp Chat to PDF tool. Nothing is uploaded for the conversion step.
Store both formats. Save the PDF and the original .txt (and media zip if any) in your case folder. Ask your counsel how they want materials packaged.

What a PDF helps with, and what it does not

A PDF makes long threads easier to skim, print, or attach in email than a raw .txt wall. Names, timestamps, and page breaks improve human review. That convenience is why people convert chats before sharing with an attorney.

A home-made PDF is not automatically “court-ready evidence.” Courts and jurisdictions differ on authenticity, chain of custody, complete exports, metadata, and whether screenshots or certified extractions are required. Only your lawyer can advise what your matter needs.

Tokitool does not notarize, timestamp-attest, or watermark chats as verified. We do not alter message meaning intentionally; parsing can still skip unrecognised lines or treat system notices differently than a forensic tool would.
